Why Curtains are Best for Explosion Management in Multi-Material-Mix Environments
Cameleon protective curtain systems have clear advantages over explosion containment systems that rely on screens, shields, or solid walls.
The softer fire-resistant material surface absorbs more of the impact from the explosion. Consequently, the full shock does not “bounce back” from hard surfaces or deflect from wall to wall. Moreover, the speed of any projectiles is immediately reduced, limiting the degree of additional risk to personnel and property from the “bounce back” affect.
Cameleon protective curtain systems consist of aluminium frame supporting columns, hanging rails and curtains. These curtains are made from a heavy refractory E-glass material and, therefore, satisfies DIN 4102-1 B1. The system is supplied in four configurations:

- Double Court 8x12m
- Triple Court 8x18m
The curtain fibre content is commonly used in curtains designed to provide additional personal protection during standard welding procedures.
The curtain viewing window complies with the DIN EN 1598 standard for inert gas welding stations. Consequently, customers and employees in the workshop are protected from the harmful bright radiation produced during aluminium welding. The transparent strip is available in two colours. The colours are red (standard) or green.
